Irish Peatland Conservation Council
The Irish Peatland Conservation Council (Comhairle Chaomhnaithe Phortaigh na hÉireann) is an environmental NGO established to conserve a representative sample of living intact Irish bogs and peatlands for the benefit of the people of Ireland, and to safeguard their diversity of wildlife. Its conservation campaigns include purchasing bogland nature reserves, providing resources and training on bogs for children, adults and teachers, repairing damaged bogs, fostering a positive attitude towards peatlands, and encouraging ecologically sustainable lifestyles which are in harmony with the environment.
