In part fulfilment of requirements of the Marine Mammal Management Plan in Dublin Port Company’s Construction Environmental Management Plan for the MP2 Project
A total of 10 seal haul-out sites were surveyed on 16 days between 30 June 2023 and 18 January 2024. Most sites were surveyed with an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)
Dublin Bay, Howth, Ireland's Eye, Lambay, Rush, Dalkey and the Muglins.
30 June 2023 - 18 January 2024
UAV photographic images were analysed and individual seals present were highlighted. Seals were classified by species and maturity status. Maturity was divided into adult, juvenile, and pup. Juvenile was defined as pre-breeding age, and pup was considered born in the current breeding season.
