Public survey collecting the location and various attributes of Rhododendron ponticum.

To map the locations of R. ponticum plants with the aim of controlling its spread.
Data captured through a purpose-made GIS app used by trained volunteers on their mobile phones
Currently covering the north Beara peninsula, with a particular focus around the Lauragh and Tuosist areas
Minimum zoom level required before users are able to place a location marker; user manual input of townland to verify location;  photo of plant required to verify correct plant identification; offering of training workshops on app use to increase quality of data capture.
