This three year project (2008-2011) aims to provide robust scientific data to support conservation policy and provide guidance to state agencies in implementing national and international obligations and in so doing to build national capacity in the area of automated assessment and monitoring wildlife populations.
Effort based line transect survey and off-effort sightings.
Irish, UK and European EEZ and international waters.
2008-2011
All sightings verified by experienced survey team leaders during the survey and by the IWDG Ship Surveys Officer (Dave Wall) during data entry.
Dataset collected during GMIT/IWDG PRECAST Surveys funded by the Marine Intitute and National Parks and Wildlife 2008 to 2011.
