Survey Details - CréBeo Earthworm Survey
CréBeo Earthworm Survey
Earthworm records from a national survey of soil biodiversity in 61 sites of different land use types across the Republic of Ireland. Earthworms were recorded in 49 of these sites.
Part of EPA-funded research project collecting baseline data on soil biodiversity in Irish soils (CréBeo).
Earthworms were sampled from the soil at each site using a combination of hand-sorting and mustard extraction methods. Earthworms were preserved and later identified under stereomicroscope.
19/09/2006 to 28/04/2009
All uncommon earthworm species were verified by Dr Olaf Schmidt
