National distribution survey of pine marten throughout the Island of Ireland at 10km scale. Funded by Forest Service (DAFF) under National Development Plan 2000-2006, Heritage Council, Peoples Trust for Endangered Species, National Parks and Wildlife Service.

To assess the distribution of Pine Marten across the island of Ireland
Transect based surveys for scats in each 10km square with DNA confirmation of scat identity to pine marten. Methodology available in reports outlined in additional resources. Results are where pine marten were detected.

Project carried out by Ecological Management Group with DNA testing by Waterford Institute of Technology. Data verified by Dr Declan O' Mahony and is of high quality.
