Obeserve and record wildflowers at a maximum distance of 2m from the river. Casual wildlife observations were also recorded and included in this dataset.

The River Slate is listed as moderate status quality (Q3-4) on www.catchements.ie. The River Slate is an important feature whch flows through the town of Rathangan and provides many amenities to locals such as fishing, boating and visual. It is for this reason, that we have been tasked with completing a wildflower survey.
This survey included walking a 1.11km stretch along the River Slate, observing and recording wildflowers at a maximum distance of 2m from the river. The survey was divided into 10 transects along the publicly accessible areas with the town. Casual wildlife observations were also recorded and included in this dataset.
This survey only included areas along the streams course that were publicly accessible. Start Point: 53.345682, -6.525465, End Point: 53.218738, -7.00290 at a bridge on Millbrook Road, Co. Kildare. Total survey length 1.11km.
