River Loobagh invasive plant eradication pilot project
The data set is from a pilot project that aims to eradicate Giant Hogweed and other invasive species from the banks of the section of the Loobagh.

The aim of the survey is to eradicate invasive species from an area of the river Loobagh. The survey's purpose is to monitor the amount of invasive species along the Loobagh, so the success of the spraying can be judged.
The banks of the River Lobagh where walked, the number of invasive species were recorded. If the stands of the plants were too dense to count, individual plants were estimated in a systematic method. The location of the plants were recorded by GPS.
The survey covers the banks of the Loobagh from the townland of Riversfield(Kilmallock ) to Knocksauna Bridge.
This survey was carried out through May to September 2016 and the area will be survey again in 2017.
Identification of invasive species was done by staff who have completed invasive species identifcation training from Invas Biosecurity. GPS coordinates were checked for accuracy in the office.
