Depth Integrated mid-lake samples from the epilimnion, counted following Utermöl technique in cells or colonies per ml.

Spring and summer, 2001 to 2003
All phytoplankton collected as part of this dataset were identified by Dr Rossana Caroni and Dr Karol Donnelly. Many taxa were grouped to Genus to ensure compatibility for analysis.
The dataset is complete.
Data has been published in: Free, G., Little, R., Tierney, D., Donnelly, K., Caroni, R., 2006. A reference based typology and ecological assessment system for Irish lakes. Preliminary investigations. 266pp. EPA, Wexford, Ireland. Future publications are planned by the authors of the report.
