Dublin Naturalists' Field Club
The Dublin Naturalists' Field Club was founded in 1886. It has the general aim of promoting an interest in all branches of natural historyThe Field club activities are educational and provide opportunities for people to share their interests in, and learn about the natural history of our environment. The Club is concerned with the conservation and protection of rare and endangered plants and animals and the protection of sites of scientific interest. Its membership, which consists of several hundred people of all ages, includes both amateur and professional naturalists. Interest and enthusiasm are the only qualifications needed.
